About Windrose Airlines
Windrose Airlines is a charter airline based in Kiev, Ukraine. The airline operates flights to destinations in Western Europe, Middle East and Asia. These include Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada, Punta Cana, Hong Kong, Tel Aviv, Antalya, Dubai, Salzburg, Pula, Split, Poprad and many others. Windrose Airlines was established in 2003 to provide charter flights to destinations in Europe and the Middle East. In 2006, regular flights to Moscow and Kaliningrad in Russia were initiated. In 2008 the company expanded its route network, then sharply reduced it. Since 2008, Windrose Airlines has focused on charter flights. From 2010 to the present day, the airline has been licensed to operate regular flights, should the need arise. The airline was the first to carry out flights basing its aircraft at various airports in Ukraine. Windrose Airlines' fleet consists of A320-200, A321-200 and A330-200.

The carry-on baggage allowance for Windrose flights is one piece of carry-on baggage with a maximum weight of 5kg, with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 35cm x 15cm.
Checked Baggage
Economy Class passengers are permitted a baggage allowance of 23kg. Premium Economy Class passengers are permitted a maximum baggage allowance of 30kg. Infants and newborns are permitted a checked baggage allowance of 10kg.

Windrose amongst the 5 carriers to trannsport 93% of Unranian Airlines passengers in 2017
Ukraine's airlines serviced a total of 10.6 million passengers in 2017. 5 Ukrainian companies transported 93% of the total amount of passengers handled by Ukrainian airlines. The five that did so were Ukraine International Airlines, Windrose, Azur Air Ukraine, Atlasjet Ukraine and Bravo Airways, according to the Center for Transport Strategies citing the statistics published by the State Aviation Service of Ukraine.
Although statistics into which airline carried which proportion of passengers remains unpublished, it said that Windrose boosted its handling 2.5-fold, compared to the 2016 results. At the same time, Atlasjet Ukraine saw a 73.8% rise, Bravo Airways increased its figure by 49.9%. Also, Azur Air Ukraine and Ukraine International Airlines increased their handling by 17.2% and 16.5% respectively. Earlier it was reported that in 2017 Ukraine International Airlines handled a total of 6,93 million passengers.
Altogether, in 2017, a total of 18 Ukrainian airline companies took passengers to the sky. According to the State Aviation Service, charter flights saw the highest growth pace among Ukrainian airlines – 49.2%. A total of 3,8 million of Ukrainian passenger reportedly took charter flights. 85% of such flights were operated by just four airlines: Windrose, Ukraine International Airlines, Azur Air Ukraine and Bravo Airways. Nevertheless, the majority of Ukrainian passengers traveled via scheduled flights – 6.8 million of Ukrainian citizens took this route. This figure indicates an 18% rise from the year before. Altogether, Ukraine’s corporations engaged in aviation services handled a total of 10.6 million passengers.
Ukraine International Airlines, Windrose and Azur Air Ukraine handled over 75% of passengers flying from Boryspil airport. The main source of growth of passenger handling for the airport occurred thanks to the attraction of transit passengers and charter flights. A total of 930.9 passengers traveled on domestic flights between 9 Ukrainian cities operated by 5 airlines. The volume of passengers in 2016 was 17.6% lower. At the same time, more than 9.6 passengers traveled on international flights operated by Ukrainian airlines, indicating a 28.6% rise from the 2016 figure. 5.8 million of those passengers traveled on scheduled flights, which shows an increase of 18.1%.

Dniproavia transfers aircraft to Windrose Airlines
The airline that used to be the largest Embraer ERJ145 operator in the CIS has been expired according to State Aviation Administration reports. Dniproavia has transferred all of its aircraft carries to Windrose Airlines, another Ukrainian carrier. Windrose’s fleet currently includes seven Ukrainian-registered 50-seat Embraer ERJ145 jets manufactured in 1998-2003 (UR-DNG, -DNB, -DNF, -DNR, -DNT, and -DPB), all of them previously operated by Dniproavia. An Embraer source confirmed for Russian Aviation Insider that Dniproavia no longer have any Brazilian-manufactured airliners.
The move to transfer the aircraft may have had to do with the recent prisitisation of Dniproavia. The carrier is now involved in a series of litigations in Ukraine. It is quite possible that the owner of both airlines, Ukrainian businessman Ihor Kolomoysky, is thus trying to secure the airliners so as not to lose them.

Windrose Airlines announced it had wet-leased a pair of A321-200s from Olympus Airways
Windrose Airlines announced it had wet-leased a pair of A321-200s from Olympus Airways. SX-ABQ (msn 1060) would be in service for the Ukrainian carrier until November.
It was positioned from Athens Int'l to Kiev Boryspil on April 17 and will shortly be joined by SX-BHT also on a contract running through until November.
For its part, Windrose Airlines operates one A320-200, four A321-200s, and one A330-200 on scheduled passenger flights from Ukraine to Turkey, Spain, Bulgaria, Greece, Egypt, Montenegro, Croatia, Cyprus, and Italy.
