Mistral Air was established over 40 years ago by Carlo Pedersoli (stage name Bud Spencer), and since 2002 has been owned by the Poste Italiane group. The airline is certified as a flight operator in accordance with European legislation (EU OPS1) and has its own pilot training school, which is the first in Italy to have obtained certification from ENAC (the Italian Civil Aviation Authority) as a T.R.T.O (Type Rating Training Organisation). This is further evidence of the way in which pilots are constantly kept up to date, and of the ’s readiness to invest in training and professionalism.

Mistral Air reorganisation
The Mistral company that manages the air connections with the minor Sicilian islands has announced that not participating in the new call will launch in the coming days the procedures of collective dismissal for the 40 flight attendants. It is unknown as to what the consequences of this might mean.

Mistral Air Suspends flights from Pescara Airport
The national airline of the Italian Post Office property, decided to suspend flights departing and arriving from Pescara Airport. The carrier has flights to Sicily, Sardinia and Albania from here. At the moment they are still receiving bookings on some flights up until March, after which no more flights can be booked. In terms of the summer, there is a little uncertainty about whether flights will be cancelled.

Mistral Air announced it had wet-leased in Avions de Transport Régional capacity from DAT - Danish Air Transport and its DOT - Danu oro transportas
LY-RUM (msn 10) has been in service for Mistral Air since July 3 running mail haulage flights for Poste Italiane from Lamezia Terme to Brescia. Similarly, OY-RUG (msn 509) has been in service for the Italian carrier since July 16 plying flights from Florence Peretola to each of Bari and Nice.

Mistral Air launched flights between Florence and Marseille on 13 April
Served twice-weekly (Thursdays and Sundays) on the carrier’s ATR 72-500s, the 483-kilometre link will face no direct competition.
The carrier also offers twice-weekly (Mondays and Fridays) flights between Florence and Nice. With this launch, Marseille is now connected to eight destinations in Italy, with Florence joining Catania, Milan Linate, Milan Malpensa, Naples, Palermo, Rome Fiumicino and Venice Marco Polo.
In total there are 40 weekly flights between Marseille and Italy at the start of S17.

Mistral Air announced it was adding several new routes with ATR72, Boeing 737 and leased MD82 aircraft
This new routes include Bari - Corfu, Bari- Rhodes, Catania - Sofia, Catania - Pescara, Catania - Lampedusa and many others. I
