All Fiji Airways flights will include meals in the price of the ticket. In Economy Class, passengers can expect 2 meals on longer flights to USA and Hong Kong, or on shorter flights either a snack or a hot meal, depending on the duration of the flight. Passengers in Business Class can enjoy a fine dining experience crafted by chefs, consisting of three courses and including a selection of cheeses.

 

Fiji Airways Special Dietary Requirements

Fiji Airways state that they can cater to special dietary requirements for religious, dietary or medical needs, such as vegan meal, Halal meal, gluten-free meal or Kosher meal. Fiji Airways to start B737 MAX ops in late 4Q13

Fiji Airways has announced that it will begin commercial B737-8 operations in December this year. The first of its type is expected to arrive in November, with its premier voyage from Nadi to Adelaide taking place the following month. The remaining five of this type of aircraft are expected to be delivered by the end of 2019. The Fijian airline is hoping that the improved efficiency and operational range of the MAX 8s will negate the operational restrictions that affect its current fleet of B737-700s and -800s in both Nadi and across the South Pacific.

Tough Dominiko Waqaniburotu is happy with the current progress of the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians as they build up to the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.

But the John McKee–coached side aims to get the job done against Tonga on Saturday.

Fiji Airways adds Christchurch - Suva one-time charter 

Fiji Airways will make a one-time exception to adjust its Christchurch, New Zealand service. On the 28/06/18 a Fiji Airway's Boeing 737-800 will serve passengers on the route Christchurch - Suva - Nadi instead of the original route, which doesn't stop at Suva.

Fiji Airways codeshare agreement with Singapore Airlines and SilkAir

Fiji Airways has signed a codeshare agreement with Singapore Airlines (SIA) and its subsidiary SilkAir. This should have a positive impact on the quantity and quality of flights in the region, making connections more convenient for passengers travelling to Fiji via Singapore. 10 destinations in Asia and Europe will be affected by this change. Due to this new agreement, SIA and SilkAir customers can access Fiji Airways' non-stop flights between Singapore and Nadi, one of Fiji's largest towns, including the airline's third weekly seasonal service that was launched last on April 4.  Customers will also have the luxury of travelling on codeshare flights between Nadi and three other destinations in the country: its capital, Suva, Labasa, and Savusavu.

 

Fiji Airways will also benefit from this agreement through better access to SIA and SilkAir-operated flights. These flights include several Asian destinations such as Japan, China and South Korea, as well as European cities in Germany and the United Kingdom.

Fiji Airways record profits

Fiji Airways made a $95.8 million profit in 2017, its highest ever before tax record. The profit is a 13.4% increase from the previous financial year, a statement from the national carrier said.The company comprises Fiji Airways, its subsidiaries Fiji Link and Pacific Call Comm. Ltd, and includes a 38.75 per cent share of Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa on Denarau Island. The Fiji Airways statement said the group earned F$929m, an increase of $103.7m from the year before and carried 1.6 million passengers compared to 1.4 million for 2016. The profit-share for non-management staff and minimum bonus for management has increased by 10 per cent from 2016.

Fiji Airways announces more flights to Samoa

Fiji Airways is already expanding on its newly-formed alliance with Samoa's renamed international airline, Samoa Airways. It has announced additional flights into Samoa from November this year. The Samoa Tourism Authority newsletter reported a Fiji Airways official, John Nickel, made the announcement during a recent tourism promotion event in Australia.

He said the airline hoped to include four weekly flights from Australia including flights from Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, all of which would go through Nadi. Mr Nickel also announced special fares to Samoa during the annual Tequila Festival in September. Fiji Airways and Samoa Airways recently signed an agreement for code sharing arrangements on most Fiji Airways international flights. Samoa Airways will still operate separate flights to and from New Zealand and Australia utilising a plane acquired through Fiji Airways.

Hong Kong Airlines Signs Codeshare Agreement with Fiji Airways

 

Hong Kong Airlines and Fiji Airways signed a codeshare agreement on August 3 to offer customers enhanced connectivity and seamless connections between six major destinations in the South Pacific and Asia.

Under the agreement, Hong Kong Airlines’ “HX” code will be placed on Fiji Airways’ flights between Hong Kong and Nadi (Fiji), as well as Nadi and Auckland. At the same time, Fiji Airways will put its “FJ” code on Hong Kong Airlines’ flights between Hong Kong and Bangkok, Tokyo and Osaka, according to Fiji Airways.

Mr Li Dianchun, Chief Commercial Officer, Hong Kong Airlines said, “The commencement of our partnership with Fiji Airways is good news for passengers of both airlines. Our passengers now have a new choice to enjoy the white sandy beaches and aesthetically pleasing islands of Fiji under an all-year-round sunny weather. Meanwhile, we are excited to welcome more new friends from Fiji onboard Hong Kong Airlines’ flight to explore the bustling contemporary city of Hong Kong which embodies the unique “east-meets-west” culture.”

Mr. Andre Viljoen, Managing Director and CEO, Fiji Airways also said: “We’re delighted to have an excellent partner, Hong Kong Airlines, to help expand our footprint in Northeast Asia. This is a key part of our growth and presence in the region, and the three destinations are welcome additions to our network. The arrangement will allow through check-in of customers and their luggage all the way to their final destinations, offering convenient transit options in Hong Kong and Nadi. We look forward to welcoming more Asian travelers to our home, Fiji, one of the world’s most sought after tourist destinations.”

Fiji Airways onboard service has been enhanced for the comfort of Asian guests and come with Asian menus and availability of Mandarin & Cantonese interpreters on every flight between Hong Kong and Nadi. Just as importantly, Fijians can now explore six new key destinations in Asia with Hong Kong Airlines through a seamless and convenient one-stop in Hong Kong.

Flight tickets between Hong Kong and Nadi, as well as Nadi and Auckland under the codeshare agreement can be purchased via travel agents or through both airlines’ sales offices and call centres from today onwards. The sales of flight tickets between Hong Kong and Bangkok, Tokyo and Osaka will commerce in late August.

Fiji Airways and Samoa's new international airline, Samoa Airways have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly pursue a range of commercial opportunities and partnerships
 
Under the proposed partnership, Fiji Airways will provide initial support to Samoa Airways to help launch its international services to and from Apia to Auckland and Sydney through the use of its established infrastructure in sales, commercial, operations and maintenance. The proposed commercial partnership between Samoa Airways and Fiji Airways is another extension of the already close relationship Fiji Airways continues to enjoy with the Government of Samoa in terms of promoting improved air access into Samoa from other markets outside of New Zealand and Australia.
 
 
In May 2016, Fiji Airways and Jetstar announced the launch of an interline agreement that will see the Fijian flag carrier connect to more than 21 destinations on Jetstar’s network from Singapore. The interline agreement has been signed with the Jetstar Group of branded airlines including Jetstar Airways, Jetstar Asia, Jetstar Japan and Jetstar Pacific.  
 
In February 2016, Fiji Airways announces twice-weekly flights from Nadi to Vava'u in Tonga. The new flight schedule offers easy connectivity from our international gateways, with especially short connectivity for our North American travellers connecting through Nadi, Fiji. It also makes it convenient for former Vava’u residents now living in the United States to return home.
 
In May 2012, Fiji Airways officially rebranded in 2012 and reverted to its original name of Fiji Airways. The rebranding to Fiji Airways officially took place on 27 June 2013. The name change aimed to associate the airline more closely with the nation and to be more visible in search results. In China, the name Air Pacific was often confused with Hong Kong airline Cathay Pacific, Philippine airline Cebu Pacific and a Chinese air conditioning company. With the rebranding came a name change for the airline's booking classes. The Pacific Voyager (economy) and Tabua Class (business) of Air Pacific became the Fiji Airways' Economy and Fiji Airways' Business Class. 
 
Fiji Airways has a subsidiary airline Fiji Link (formerly Pacific Sun) that offers domestic flights and flights to the nearby islands of Tonga, Samoa, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. Fiji Airways is also a partner with the frequent flyer programmes of Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, and Qantas. Fiji Airways has various fare types including Bula Saver and Special, Bula Plus, Biz Saver and Biz Plus. Biz Plus is the most flexible type of ticket in Business including 30kg of checked baggage, 2 x 7kg pieces of carry-on baggage allowance, unlimited changes permitted and cancellations are permitted prior to flight departure. The Fiji government owns 52% of the airline and Qantas 46%, with the governments of several Pacific island nations holding the remainder. 
 
  In May 2012, Fiji Airways announced that it would reintroduce the name Fiji Airways to reinforce its role as the proud national airline of Fiji. Fiji Airways has partnerships with Qantas Airways, Air New Zealand, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Solomon Airlines. Qantas also codeshares with Fiji Airways on some of Fiji Airways major airline flight routes and provides ground and airport counter services in some countries. Qantas Frequent Flyer Points can be earned for travel on eligible Fiji Airways flights and fares.
