About EuroAtlantic Airlines

EuroAtlantic Airlines, is a Portuguese airline leasing and charter service which was founded in 1993 and is headquartered in Sintra, Portugal. It was originally founded as Air Zarco in 1993, changing its name to Air Madeira until 2000 where it changes to its current name of EuroAtlantic Airways.

EuroAtlantic Airways provides charter services, Ad-Hoc flights and wet-lease from anywhere to several European destinations and worldwide. It has operated Boeing 777s on behalf of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and 2 767s for Air Canada in the past.

EuroAtlantic operates scheduled routes between Lisbon and Bissau and Lisbon and Sao Tomé Island, Sao Tomé and Príncipe on its own behalf. Euro Atlantic own 38% of the national airline of Sao Tomé and Príncipe, STP Airways.

 


 

About STP Airways

STP Airways is the national carrier ofSao Tomé and Príncipe. It is currently banned from operating in the European Union, so its flights are carried out by EuroAtlantic Airways. They commenced operations in 2008, with a Boeing 767 leased from its parent company. STP Airways uses EuroAtlantic Airways to carry out a weekly service.

EuroAtlantic Airlines baggage allowance is dependent on the class of ticket purchased.

Economy Class Passengers are permitted one piece of hand luggage, measuring a maximum of 55 x 40 x 20cm, and weighing a maximum of 8kg.

Business Class Passengers are permitted one piece of hand luggage. This must also fit within the measurements of 55 x 40 x 20cm, but can weigh a maximum of 10kg.

EuroAtlantic Airlines offer free checked baggage, depending on the weight and number of pieces which are carried.

Suitcases must not weigh over 32kg, in accordance with the international standards for Occupational Safety and Health conditions.

EuroAtlantic Airways strengthens its fleet with three more aircraft

EuroAtlantic airways, currently owned entirely by the founder and chairman of the Administration, Tomaz Metello, said that by the airline panes on having three more Boeing B767-300ER long-haul aircraft. The information indicates that these are aircraft that were previously in the service of Hainan Airways, a shareholder of TAP and Azul, and that Tomaz Metello believes that the investment will allow "to secure the contracts in the portfolio for the next few years, and to project acquisitions of new models". EuroAtlantic has high hopes for the upcoming months, with a surge in demand looking to help the airline grow and expand this year.

EuroAtlantic Airways wet-leases aircraft to Primera Air Scandinavia

The Danish carrier took delivery of its maiden AirbusA321neo on April 17. This summer, Primera Air plans to operate three aircraft of the type, at first focussing on its transatlantic network, alongside a B757-200, wet-leased from National Airlines and aB767-300(ER) wet-leased from EuroAtlantic Airways. The wet-leases are necessary due to A321neos delivery delays.

EuroAtlantic Airways operates TAP flight to Venezuela

TAP Air Portugals flights between Lisbon andCaracas are now being undertaken by the Portuguese Airline EuroAtlantic Airways in a Boeing 767-300ER. This decision was made due to the lack of aircraft and crew to satisfy all the flights in the TAP network. Atlantic Airways has carried out several charters for TAP in recent months, mainly in Northern Europe and African airports, with the Boeing 767-300ER, whose cabins have been totally refurbished and configured in two classes with new armchairs.

 

Euro Atlantic Airways is making two weekly flights between Lisbon and Caracas (TP2614) with return via Curacao (TP2615) on Tuesdays and Saturdays. On the return from Venezuela, as was happening recently with TAP planes, there is a stopover on the island of Curacao, in the Netherlands Antilles, for crew change, as pilots and flight attendants rest on this Caribbean island due to problems of security in Venezuela.

EuroAtlantic has reduced flights to a weekly schedule due to "excess market supply". The changes will commence this August. This has been reduced from the current bi-weekly flights on offer.

EuroAtlantic Airways presents Boeing B767-300 in Bissau

EuroAtlantic Airways, the Portuguese airline, presented the revamped Boeing B767-300 at the Bissau airport, Guinéa-Bissau: the link between Lisbon and the Guinean capital. The company invested 15 million euros in the complete renovation of the cabin interiors of the three Boeing B767-300.

 

"There is a commitment from the euroAtlantic Airways administration in this country that welcomed us three years ago at a particularly difficult time in Guinea-Bissau. We came to help Guinea-Bissau three years ago when foreign air links did not exist and we brought new hope by bringing more people to Guinea Bissau and more tourists, "said José Caetano Pestana, director of the company's foreign relations.
