Eastern Airways is a British airline whose head office is based at Humberside Airport in Kirmington, North Lincolnshire, England.

Eastern Airways flies to many destinations including Aberdeen, Bergen, Birmingham, Cardiff, Durham Tees Valley, East Midlands, Humberside, Paris Orly, Norwich, Rodez, Newcastle, Leeds Bradford, Southampton, Stavanger, Stornoway, Wick John O'Groats and Norwegian connections.

Eastern Airways has a codeshare agreement with Widerøe.  You can also search for Widerøe flights here

The airline operates scheduled domestic, international services and private charter services. Around 800,000 passengers a year are carried on the scheduled route network. A really smart management team with a clear market niche which has expanded as larger carriers move away from regional UK flying.

Eastern Airways' fleet consists of BAe Jetstream 41, Embraer ERJ 145 and Saab 2000. In February 2014 the Bristow Group acquired a 60% interest in Eastern Airways and the airline continues to operate under the Eastern Airways brand.

With small aircraft, leather seats, on-board catering, seat allocation at check-in, 10 kgs of hand baggage and 15 kgs of hold baggage, very friendly cabin staff, Eastern Airways are the true antidote to the low cost experience.

Eastern Airways has teamed up with renowned Airline partners to make sure our customers are well connected to the rest of the world. For customers in Aberdeen heading to Dubai we offer connections through Newcastle with our partner Emirates. Flying with Eastern Airways, passengers may be entitled to all inclusive inflight services, express check-in services, executive airport lounges and free hold baggage and hand baggage.

Eastern Airways to relaunch flights between Southampton and Rodez

Eastern Airways will bring back flights between Southampton and Rodez this summer. The airline previously flew the service and has brought it back due to popular demand. Initially, Eastern Airways will fly the Southampton—Rodez route two times a week — once on a Monday and once on a Friday. Shortly after, the airline will increase the frequency of the route to three times a week with an additional flight on Wednesday. The flight is expected to take 1 hour and 40 minutes.

General Manager of Easter Airways, Roger Hage attributed the relaunch of the Southampton—Rodez service to the popularity of the flight in last years summer schedule. He added that Southampton is a great connection for tourists as trains run frequently into London and this is one of the reasons why it was so popular.

Eastern Airways reduces operations

Eastern Airways will no longer service passengers between the capital of Northern Ireland, Belfast, and the Isle of Man. This may also affect the airlines flights from Isle of Man to Glasgow and Newcastle, and the Belfast City to Newcastle service, which all operate on the same plane, which makes several stops. This is due to EasyJet  starting flights on this route next year and Eastern Airways not sure if they can cope with the competition. The Belfast route has become infamous for airlines, Eastern only began operating the route, which originates in Newcastle, in September of last year following the liquidation of CityWing.

Eastern Airways takes over flight between Aberdeen and London City

Eastern Airways, franchise partner of Flybe, will commence operations on the Aberdeen - London City Airport route from May 2018. The Eastern Airways aircraft servicing passengers on this route will be a 50-seat Saab 2000 aircraft, which will most likely be upgraded to a 76-seat Embraer 170 jet at a later date. This will reduce flight time to 1 hour 15 minutes between the two cities. There will be two flights scheduled a day in each direction as well as a Sunday service. Fares will start at £89.99 for a one-way ticket, which you can book with Alternative Airlines.

From October 29 passengers with Eastern Airways service to Scotland will be able to buy tickets through the Flybe website with the new contract seeing the flights given a BE flight code – meaning fliers will be able to go on to other Flybe destinations with one ticket.

Eastern Airways provides up to three flights each weekday for Flybe, plus a Sunday service from Norwich to Aberdeen, connecting with onward services to destinations including Stornoway, Wick John O’Groats, Stavanger and Bergen.

Eastern Airways adds two ATR72s for oil charter operations

Eastern Airways has announced it is adding a pair of ATR72-600s to its fleet with the maiden aircraft of the type having already been delivered on Friday, September 8. The first Avions de Transport Régional equipment in the UK regional specialist's fleet, msn 1448 and 1482 are leased from Nordic Aviation Capital and will be deployed on oil contract charter services between Aberdeen Dyce and Scatsta (Shetland Isles). “We are increasing our capabilities in the 70-seat market with the introduction of these two brand new ATR 72-600s into the fleet, which are ideally suited for the airports we fly to and environments we operate in," Tony Burgess, Eastern Airways’ Chief Operating Officer, said. "These efficient, modern aircraft help us to fulfil a vital role and provide a long term commitment supporting the oil and gas industry.”

March 2017

Eastern Airways announced it had moved to continue some Citywing services following the company's liquidation.

The latter ceased all flights earlier this week after confirming it had "found it difficult to source suitable viable aircraft" to fulfil its routes on the back of Czech airline Van Air, which operated the flights in Citywing's behalf, losing its route licences in February 2017. As a result, Eastern Airways has vowed to continue operating flights between the Isle of Man and both Newcastle and Belfast. Eastern Airways has been operating flights from Newcastle International Airport since 2003 and currently flies to both Aberdeen and Cardiff.

Eastern Airways announced a new Glasgow-Isle of Man service

The regional airline moved quickly earlier this month to provide a continuation of services to the island from Belfast City and Newcastle after Isle of Man-based Citywing went into liquidation. The carrier will now offer a daily weekday link to the Isle of Man from Glasgow service. Flights will run from May 2 using a 29-seat Jetstream 41 aircraft.

January 2017

Eastern Airways announced it was developing its route network in France by introducing new services in 2017 from Rodez to Italy, the south coast of England and east-central France. Three new routes include summer services from Rodez Aveyron Airport to Milan and Southampton, as well as a year-round domestic service to Lyon.

The British airline will base a second aircraft in Rodez and offer 3 flights a week operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to Lyon from Rodez, which launches on 13 March 2017. Rodez Aveyron Airport is conveniently located providing easy access, car parking next to the terminal and fast check-in to departure timings aimed at saving business travelers valuable time. The Milan service will operate twice a week on Fridays and Sundays from 7 July 2017.
