About Cape Air
Cape Air is an airline located at Barnstable Municipal Airport in Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States.
The airline operates as Hyannis Air Service Inc. and serves scheduled passenger flights in the Northeast, the Caribbean, Midwest, Eastern Montana and Micronesia.
Cape Air was founded in 1988, originally flying between Provincetown and Boston in Massachusettes, however the airline gradually added new routes to destinations across southeastern New England. In 1994, Nantucket Airlines and Cape Air merged and currently offer hourly services between Natucket and Hyannis.
In 2007, Cape Air commenced an expansion of services in the Northeast and Midwest and soon after began services between Boston and Rutland, Vermony, flying 3 x daily.
In 2016 Cape Air started flying from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Bimini, Bahamas.
Cape Air has codeshare agreements with United Airlines, JetBlue and American Airlines.

Cape Air Founder Announces New Planes Plan
The founder of Cape Air will visit Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois on 14th June 2018. He stated that Cape Air, in the next 3-5 years, will be rolling out new airplanes.
He also stated that a new airplane is beginning to take delivery of at the end of 2018 and will be integrating over the next 3 to 5 years. Travellers will like the new amenities in the aircraft. it is seen as more comfortable ride and an additional improvement on what is being provided.

Cape Air undecided whether to keep on existing flights
Cape Air cannot decide whether to continue flights between Guam, Rota and Saipan after United Airlines announced its decision to end its partnership with the commuter airline on May 31. United Corporate Communications on Monday confirmed that it's cutting ties with Cape Air in Micronesia and dropping service to Rota. United stated it will launch its own daily jet service from Guam to Saipan on June 1. The flight will not stop on Rota. Until now, Cape Air has flown the route between Guam and Saipan, including its Rota-Guam and Rota-Saipan service, five times a day. This could have a very negative impact on the residents of Rota who, if Cape Air decide to discontinue, will be left without scheduled air services.

Cape Air cautions travellers
Cape Air flights to the Caribbean from Rutland in the wake of Hurricane Maria: "Our focus is on safety of our passengers, colleagues, and friends during this time."
Cape Air, a regional airline operating out of the Rutland Southern Vermont Regional Airport, has resumed limited, commercial operation of flights to Tortola, St. Thomas, St. Croix, Mayaguez and Vieques.
The company’s focus is on the safety of our passengers, colleagues, and friends during this time, according to Trish Lorino, Cape Air vice president.
"Because the infrastructure in the U.S. Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico are severely impacted, passengers should exercise extreme caution when traveling."
Cape Air employs over 100 staff members at its eight Caribbean destinations.
On the airline’s website, officials advised passengers that conditions in and around the airports it serves, especially San Juan, are "very compromised and resources are limited."
Lorino told reporters Oct. 4 that Cape Air is working with other airlines in helping hurricane victims. However, it is suggested that cash is needed most at the moment; sending food, clothing and other supplies is more difficult.
"We are not bringing additional items from Rutland to Boston," Lorino told the Eagle. "Our capabilities to bring supplies from Rutland to Boston to connect with JetBlue have been exhausted. We encourage anyone who wants to support the region to donate cash via their chosen non-profit. The officials in Puerto Rico, the USVI and BVI are also encouraging people to send cash–not supplies."
Lorino added that concerned residents should contact their local Red Cross chapter as well as other aid agencies to help in the recovery.
If you have a ticketed Cape Air Caribbean reservation between Sept. 12 and Oct. 31, the airline will allow you to change it to another Cape Air flight, with no additional fee collection, on any flight operated commercially through Nov. 15.

Cape Air announced Pathway agreements with Baylor University, Ohio State University and University of Dubuque
These agreements create a structured path for graduates of these schools to eventually join Cape Air as pilots after completing their degree and serving as a flight instructors. The airline will continue to work towards establishing other agreements with more Universities and Colleges.
