2nd November 2017

Argentina’s Andes Lineas Aereas has placed into service its first Boeing 737-800, which features the airline's new livery

The Salta-based carrier operated the aircraft on its new route between Buenos Aires Aeroparque and Bariloche.

Andes, which was an all-Boeing MD-80 operator, will receive two additional 737-800s by year-end.

Andes will configure its 737s with 189 seats, to allow the airline to better compete with Argentina's low-cost carriers. It also plans to grow into new charter markets.

Bariloche, which Andes will fly six times weekly to, is the airline's eighth domestic destination.

The airline also announced new routes from Buenos Aires to Iguazu, starting on 3 July, and to Tucuman, to be launched in September.
