About AlbaStar

Alba Star (branded as AlbaStar) is a Spanish charter and scheduled airline which is based at Palma de Mallorca Airport, Spain. The airline was founded in 2009 by Italian British entrepreneurs from the tourism and transport sectors. This was to provide chartered air transport from Italian and Spanish airports to popular touristic holiday destinations within North Africa, the Mediterranean and the Red Sea.

In July 2010, the Commercial license for Operations to transport passengers and cargo were issued to Alba Star and on the 31st July 2010 Alba Star made its first flights. The operational reliability and a deep customer-oriented attitude, characterized by the highest standards of service and determined by the important expertise of its management, has allowed to the airline to develop an excellent operating and market performance reputation from the outset. AlbaStar has collaborated extensively with many Tour Operators and the airline has established itself as the top European carrier for connections to the French city of Lourdes, departing from most European airports.

AlbaStar has a fleet made up of entirely Boeing aircraft. The airline has over 5 aircraft in its fleet, which includes a mix of Boeing 737-400 and Boeing 737-800 models.

One piece free of charge at a total of 115cm and not to exceed 7kgs.

Albastar Checked Baggage

The checked baggage allowance for each travelling passenger is 15 kilograms for charter flights and 20 kilograms for scheduled flights (if it is included in the selected fare), and excess baggage will be subject to an additional charge of 10 Euros per kilo. Extra baggage can be purchased.

AlbaStar to collaborate with That! Aviation to take passengers to the Valencia Marathon

Spanish carrier, AlbaStar, will collaborate with That! Aviation — a charter airline that specialises in sporting events travel — to serve passengers in Italy that are looking to fly to Valencia for the 2018 marathon. The special flight will travel from Milan-Malpensa Airport (MXP) to Valencia Airport (VLC), departing on the 30th November and returning on the 3rd December. There is an expected flight time of 2 hours and 15 mintutes and the airline will carry passengers on a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The Valencia marathon will take place for the 33rd consecutive year on 2nd December.

Spain's AlbaStar to retire B737 Classic fleet by late 2018 

In a plan to transition to the B737 NextGen, the Spanish carrier will look to replace its fleet of four B737-800 by the end of next year.

 

May 2017

AlbaStar (AP, Palma Son Sant Joan) has added a pair of B737-800s to its fleet inventory with an aircraft of leased from each of Apollo Aviation Groupand Castlelake.

According to Skyliner Aviation, EI-GAT (msn 32920) has been transferred to the Slovak registry as OM-MAS where it is being operated for the Spanish carrier by local ACMI/charter specialist Air Explore (ED, Bratislava).

AlbaStar begins Cape Verde flights

AlbaStar has begun flights to the African archipelago of Cape Verde located almost 600 kilometres off the continent's west coast. Using its newly inducted fleet of B737-800s, the Spanish operator has been running 2x weekly flights between Milan Orio al Serio, in northern Italy, and Sal. The ItaliaVola blog reports the service is part of a contract with TUI Group. AlbaStar operates four B737-400s and two B737-800s on passenger flights from major Spanish and Italian airports to leisure destinations in the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, the Greek Isles, Israel, the Red Sea, and various European capitals and destinations. Aside from leisure flights, it also organizes pilgrimage charters to Lourdes in France and Medjugorje in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

 

June 2016

AlbaStar launch 2 x Weekly service flights to Palma de Mallorca

The route will be served by a Boeing 737-400 aircraft containing 170 seats and will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
