About AirKenya

AirKenya (Express) is a Kenyan airline based in Nairobi and operates domestic scheduled flights to Tanzania.

From its hub at Wilson Airport, this airline operates both scheduled and charter flights across the region and has two wholly owned subsidiaries: Regional Air Services in Tanzania and Aerolink in Uganda.

The airline was founded in 1987 combined by the merger of Air Kenya and Sunbird Aviation. The two companies had over 20 years of aviation experience in East Africa and formed Airkenya Aviation. In 2007, the branding changed to establish AirKenya Express.

The Kenyan Airline announced it received a Eurocopter AS350 B3 Helicopter form the Airbus Helicopters with 5Y-HNB (msn 4108).

The new aircraft can be flown with both doors open, allowing the ultimate scenic flight for photographers and clientele to see the safaris from a different perspective.

 

February 2017

This airline recently announced it will operate services to Loisaba with a minimum of 2 passengers daily. The airline will continue to fly daily to locations including: Nanyuki, Lewa Downs, Samburu, Meru and now Loisaba.
